Last Updated: August 14, 2008 Eucharistic Ministers assist the priest in distributing the Precious Body and Precious Blood to the congregation attending mass. The main duty, of a minister is to assist the priest with the distribution of the Holy Eucharist. We also purify and wash the vessels used for Consecration and Communion. Eucharistic Ministers are expected to arrive about 15 minutes before mass begins on their scheduled day. Ministers are scheduled to serve approximately twice per month.
